Cat Haven Collective was created when we realized cat lovers were not receiving the amount of help they needed or deserved.
Our objective for Cat Haven Collective is: establishing a community resource for cat lovers who are committed to doing right by their animals. We will not turn away folks due to lack of funds or knowledge; we believe education is a cornerstone to creating a new generation of responsible pet owners and cat lovers. We believe in empathy above shame, and trust that everyone seeking help has the best intentions.
Some of the many topics we specialize in
Introductions
Are you anxious about bringing a new animal into the home? Is your current cat used to being an “only child”? We can help you gently introduce two cats, an adult cat and kitten, or a cat and a dog at a comfortable pace that works for all. This will increase the likelihood for a peaceful household and maybe even create lifelong friends.
Litter box issues
Elimination issues, or litter box issues, are the most common behavioral reason cats are surrendered to shelters. The good news is that there are so many possible solutions if you are willing to have patience. Using the many tools and techniques we have had success with, we are confident we can see progress. We know you are committed to a happy house and pet!
Biting/Scratching
Is your cat playing a little too rough? Even when kittens roughhouse it can hurt! But how do we get them to stop? Often our cats don’t understand when they’ve gone too far and still think we are playing with them. Work with us to learn how to set boundaries with your cat and keep them entertained and busy with play to curb unwanted biting and scratching.
Schedule a time with us
At Cat Haven Collective, we will work with you in surrender prevention coaching to help keep your cat in your home. We have a wide variety of resources to aid in behavioral issues using gentle and compassionate methods. Ask us about other services such as at home cat assistance and long term sitting, cat care workshops, humane trapping instruction, resources for neighborhood cats, and more.
Please book a consultation before booking any other services otherwise your service will be cancelled.
DISCLAIMER: We are not a shelter or a rescue and cannot take in surrendered cats or other animals. We can, however, recommend resources for surrender prevention and if all else fails, provide recommended shelters and rescues for surrender.
Who we are
Cat Haven Collective founder, Archie Crouse (they/he), has been a lifelong cat lover. They have always had cats in their home and have volunteered with shelters since high school and have worked in cat rescue for over eight years. Archie noticed while working in rescue that often shelters were overrun with animals and there were not enough resources and time to be able to devote to pet owners who were struggling in the community. Community action is another one of Archie’s passions, and they felt filling this need would be helpful not only to the community, but to the overwhelmed shelters. At Cat Haven Collective, we believe that folks come to us with their best intentions and we pledge to meet everyone with empathy and kindness.
